Tax codes usually change at the beginning of each tax year to reflect the changes in personal allowances and tax thresholds. However, your tax code may also change during the tax year if there have been recent changes to your circumstances.
What is a final tax code?
Your last tax code with this employer can be found on the P45. P60 – Your P60 is a statement issued to you at the end of every tax year up to 5th April – this document shows how much taxable salary you paid throughout the tax year with this employer and how much tax was deducted from your salary.
Why do I have 2 p60s?
You would need to check that your employer is deducting the correct NI from your pay and using the correct national insurance number. You may receive more than one P60 if you have multiple jobs and checking that the earnings have been consolidated to show the total income is important so that you aren’t overtaxed.
What was last year’s tax code for P60?
As you mention your P60, I’ll assume it was last year’s tax code you are referring to. The normal personal allowance tax code for 07/08 was 522L. This tax year it is 543L. Your tax code was 483L as opposed to 522L which means you have lost £390 worth of your tax free allowance.
When do I need to send my P60 form?

Can a P60 be made to more than one company?
Although we may have received amounts from more than one company or pension plan, and each has a separate policy number, we combine these so that we can make a single payment to you. The P60 form includes all payments made by Just to you in the current tax year. I haven’t received my P60 from Capita or Just yet. Don’t worry!
How is the value of a P60 calculated?
When payments begin from your company or pension plan, the value of your pension is tested to work out how much of the lifetime allowance has been used up. The result of this test is expressed as a percentage and shown every year on your P60.
