These locations include: 23 factory sites, four distribution centres and a head office in the UK; in the US, we have five factories, including a head office in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in China, we have nine factories, and one farm, plus our head office in Shanghai.

Bakkavör was founded in 1986 by the two brothers Ágúst and Lýður Guðmundsson to manufacture and export cod to Scandinavia. They expanded the business by selling convenience foods. The company acquired Katsouris Fresh Foods in 1997 and Geest in 2005.
