When did I leave the UK and moved to the US?

I left the UK nine years ago, aged 23, thinking I was going away for three months and then ending up moving to the States. I married a US citizen and so became a resident there. I didn’t know that I should tell HMRC that I was leaving the country, so I didn’t. I didn’t fill out any final UK tax return or similar.
