WorkSource Centers also offer translation services in a variety of languages commonly spoken within Los Angeles, as well as assistance with childcare or bus passes to those who qualify.

For Unemployment Claimants If you are receiving unemployment benefits, you are required to register for CalJOBS and post your resume, unless otherwise instructed by the EDD. If you do not register and update your resume in CalJOBS, this may affect your eligibility to receive benefits.
What does the WIOA program do?
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was signed into law on July 22, 2014. WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
Can you get unemployment while in a training program?
Yes. You will be given a special claimant trainee status while you’re in an approved training program. This means that you may continue to draw unemployment insurance while you are in full-time training (full-time as defined by the school).

It is designed to pair the unemployed with those businesses most in need of workers. Its funding flows through local government agencies that distribute the money to workforce-development programs for training and education of various under-served populations.
Do you need to be available for work after EI training?
You will need to be available and actively looking for work to remain eligible once the training is completed. If the training is longer than the number of weeks of EI benefits that you are entitled to receive, you will not receive additional weeks of benefits to cover the entire length of the training.
