Kokkuri-san is an eccentric comedy centered around the self-proclaimed doll, Kohina Ichimatsu. Her uneventful life goes from plain to absurd when she summons a fox spirit by the name of Kokkuri-san. But contrary to popular belief, he is not the omniscient, answer-granting spirit from the legend anymore.

Gugure! Kokkuri-san. Kokkuri himself is portrayed as an attractive spirit struggling with a mid-life crisis due to him fearing for his relevance in the the modern world. Although he’s a man he has many intricacies that one would normally associate with women. This takes form (literally) later on in the show.

Kohina ends up summoning a Kokkuri-san, a low-ranking ghost in Japanese folklore. The Kokkuri-san she calls turns out to be a white-haired handsome, young man. At first he had intended to merely haunt her, but soon he becomes worried about her terrible eating habit of cup ramen for every meal.

How do you get Kokkuri to enter a Shinto shrine?
Open a window or a door so that Kokkuri-san will be able to enter the room. The torii represents the gateway to a Shinto shrine and the spirit will enter and exit through it. Place a coin on the red torii. Each person should put their index finger on the coin.
