A piano duet is a piece of music written for two people to play at one piano. It is often called Piano 4 hands. To play piano duets the two players sit with one person on the right (playing the high notes) and the other person on the left (playing the low notes).

Grove notes that the one-piano duet has the larger repertory, but has come to be regarded as a modest, domestic form of music-making by comparison with “the more glamorous two-piano duet”. The latter is more often referred to as a piano duo. The piano duet came to popularity in the second half of the 18th century.
Are piano and violin notes music the same?
Piano is generally much easier for playing the same notes as a violin plays, but as a result, piano music is much more complex. A violin makes it much harder to play even a single note, but as a result, violin music is much less complicated. That being said, I do think a violin has a lower upper limit, if that makes sense.
