Can you live at college in the summer?
Even after a full academic year, sometimes you’re still not quite ready to head home for the summer. Fortunately, colleges offer plenty of options for summer housing. Many colleges, particularly those located in cities, offer summer housing for enrolled students and interns.

Some ideas include babysitting, pet-walking, and lawn-mowing. This can also include freelancing jobs. There is a great demand for freelance writers, graphic designers, and web developers. These pay pretty well and the beauty of it is students can take on as much or as little work as they want during summer break.
How often do college students come home?
80% of the time you have with your parents is spent. Because, on average, most people will go off to college, then get a job away from home, move out of home around the age of 25, and then visit their parents maybe once or twice a year. In my freshman year of college, I went home as often as I could, which was twice.
Can you stay in your dorm during the summer?
During the summer, sure. Lots of students do. Consult the Summer Housing webpages from Student Housing for eligibility, timing, price, and so forth. But during the school year, it is generally not possible to live on campus unless you are an active student.
Where do college students go during break?
