For once in the anime, his fondness of Yuki and Haruhi and not just Mikuru was revealed to the audience, though it was not necessarily then he realised it. All in all, it’s quite obvious that Haruhi and Kyon are going to end up together, even though they find each other sometimes unbearable and annoying.
