OverDrive is a free service offered by your library or school that lets you borrow digital content (like ebooks and audiobooks) anytime, anywhere. Every OverDrive collection is slightly different because each library or school picks the digital content they want for their users.
How do I know if my library has OverDrive?
You can look for your library on overdrive.com using Find a library. You can view a map of nearby libraries, or search for a library by name or location. From there, you can get a link to your library’s OverDrive website.
Can I add any library to OverDrive?
In the OverDrive app, tap the icon in the top-left corner to open the Home menu. Tap Add a library. Enter your library’s name, city, or postal code in the search box, then tap Search. Tap your library.
Is OverDrive being replaced by Libby?
Libby is a newer app released by OverDrive. It has the same collection of titles as the OverDrive app – it’s just a different way to access the same digital library collection. OverDrive is the “classic” app, and is compatible with more devices, including Kindle Fire and Windows mobile devices.
How many libraries can you have on OverDrive?
Access to multiple OverDrive library accounts is limited to ebook loans. For browsing the OverDrive catalogue, only one library can be accessed. This work-around requires borrowing ebooks via the Libby app on a mobile device or from each library’s OverDrive catalogue website.
