Why was the Yamaha R15 discontinued?
Poor sales and lack of ABS could be the reason behind Yamaha’s decision to discontinue the 150cc motorcycles. The Yamaha R15S and Fazer 150 have witnessed a dip in demand of late. Both bikes fail to comply with new safety norms which requires ABS for 150cc+ bikes.

So, no, It would be unwise to use R15V3 for daily commute. (80km daily). You would be better off with Yamaha FZ25. It’s a fantastic,powerful,quicker,more comfortable,less expensive machine for such long (80km daily) commute.

Its a good beginner bike to start with and to get accustomed to sport riding posture.. Average is good. Beacuse it’s 155cc bike ( I spend 1. 96 lakh for my bike R15 ) .
Is R15 discontinued?

r15v3 is a good bike for daily commuting , But you need to get used to commited riding position . while coming to the height, you might feel a little discomfort as your knees doesn’t fit into the fairing of the motorcycle. You need to get a test ride for atleast few kilometres to understand the ergonomics of the bike .
