I go to Waikiki about once a week and walk around at night too. Generally it is safe but there are some creepy people wandering about. After 10 pm be careful on side streets and Kuhio, unless you are in a group. People, locals, military, are all out and about and drinking etc.

Went to the July 74 festival. Dr. Hook and the medicine show were the headliners. I was 17 in the Army and had been in Hawaii less then a week and saw the poster. Jumped on the Bus and had a great day !
