between one and eight weeks
How long does it take to receive a CIS tax refund? Once your tax return is submitted, it usually takes between one and eight weeks to get your refund. The timescale does largely depend on HMRC security checks, procedures and if it as an extra busy time of year for them.
What happens if you make a mistake on your self-assessment?
The error may mean that the wrong amount of tax is paid, or even that a refund is issued. HMRC may later discover the error and ask for the additional tax; or for the refund to be repaid. In a ‘worst case’ scenario you may have a penalty to pay as well as the tax.

What to do with a C79 form for input tax?
You should not be claiming the Vat shown on courier invoices as Input . If you have over- claimed you can adjust a future return if value is within limits of notice 700/45 para 4.3 ( e.g.less than £10k or less than £50k /1% box 6) Otherwise you will need to submit a voluntary disclosure. hope this helps. Hi. The C79 is your evidence for Input Tax.
Can you file PAYE and CIS at the same time?
Yes the ID and passwords are there for both PAYE and CIS. I can’t understand why Moneysoft allows me to file PAYE but not apply for CIS SC verification and I cant do a CIS return until I get the SC verified.
How to get CIS tax code in Xero?
If you select bank fees you can then enter the CIS tax amount in the box and post to a nominal code for CIS tax suffered (or if you wished you could post direct to your PAYE control). Hope this helps. The lack of a CIS feature is a bad omission from Xero and I strongly support the requests here.
