Do Air Ambulance collect donations?
Yes we do. Please contact our In Memory Team, who can provide collection tins and donation envelopes.
What does air ambulance collect?
In addition to clothing we take curtains, towels, handbags, belts, shoes in pairs, and bedding, apart from quilts and pillows. We do not collect bric a brac but will happily take books in a separate bag.
Where is Kent Air Ambulance now?
Our charity headquarters and forward operating base are located at Rochester Airport, with our aircraft hangared and maintained at Redhill Aerodrome.
Where is the West Yorkshire Air Ambulance based?
Our fleet. Both of our H145 helicopters, G-YAAC and G-YOAA are based between our two Helicopter bases, Nostell Air Support Unit near Wakefield in West Yorkshire and RAF Topcliffe near Thirsk in North Yorkshire.

The helicopter was funded by the Kent Air Ambulance Trust (under the operating name of the Kent Air Ambulance Fund), which was a registered charity, raising money from public and private donations in excess of £4m every year between Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
What is the history of the air ambulance trust?
The trust was founded by Kate Chivers (in whose honour the helicopter was named), and was originally called the South East Thames Air Ambulance. Initially operated on a part-time basis, the air ambulance became a seven-day service in January 2000 and shortly afterwards moved from its original Rochester Airport base to Marden near Maidstone.
