What happens if I go back to work on P50 form?
If you do go back though you need to inform them as you will have underpaid tax. When I’ve used a P50 form in the past, my tax code has always been amended immediately to reflect the refund, i.e. a refund of £20 would lower my tax code by £100. I assume this is so I don’t need to let them know if I were to go back to work in the tax year.
